Text Box: Reiki Share Come join us on the First Friday of each month from 7 to 9:30pm. The evening begins with a meditation and a temporary attunement for those new to Reiki and to those who wish to receive. The balance of the evening is spent sharing Reiki, explaining and guiding along the way. Everyone will have the opportunity to both five and receive healing. Cost is by donation only. Reiki Classes To begin your journey one needs to take the first of four levels. At each level students receive an attunement by a Reiki Master which connects them to Reiki source and enables them to work with Universal Life Force Energy. In addition to the attunements, students learn about the history of Reiki, how it works and are given the opportunity to acquire fundamental skills through hands-on practice. One Day classes. Reiki Level ll, November 15, Reiki Level lll November 29. Pre-registration is required. $50.00 deposit required upon Registration. Visionboard Workshops Join us for a fun, relaxing afternoon. Get clarity about the changes you’d like to make in your life. Create a visual collage of pictures that represent those changes. January 27, 2009 - Integrated Cancer Care: promoting healing and recovery Learn to develop a holistic approach to cancer by combining the best of conventional treatments with care for the body, mind and spirit and the safe choices of complementary therapies that can reduce side effects of cancer treatments, prevent cancer recurrence, improve quality of life, and optimize outcomes. Time: 6:00-7:30 pm Please register by Jan. 10 Dr. Teresa Clarke, MD Dr. Teresa Clarke has a vision that the healthcare system can change from a disease treatment system to one that truly cares for health and supports healing and recovery. She has a holistic perspective and is passionate about empowering patients to engage in self-care and to explore the many ways in which body, mind and spirit can be supported to a state of optimal health. From her background in family practice she has developed a career in integrated medicine by training in acupuncture and mind-body medicine. She was a consultant physician at Columbia Rehabilitation Centre where she developed her own unique approach to the chronic pain of fibromyalgia based on the principles of education, empowerment and the mind-body connection. In addition to her interest in chronic pain she has worked with cancer patients the past 8 years and is the Director of Clinical Services at InspireHealth, a non-profit society in Vancouver, BC, providing integrated cancer care services. As an integrated physician Dr. Clarke believes that patients with chronic illnesses can be inspired, empowered and supported to engage in their healing and recovery to optimal health. Dr. Clarke received her Honours B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry (1977) and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of British Columbia (1981).
